The Community of Angolan Students in Tambov from the Union of Angolan Students in Russia is grateful for celebrating their Independence Day in Russia particularly in Tambov.
The Party was on Saturday 14th, November 2015 with a gala evening; in the hall were present more than 70 people from different nationalities with 54 Angolans and 8 hours of sharing. The Celebration has begun with Angolan Nation Anthem titled by ANGOLA FORWARD; afterwards The Vice-President of the Union of Angolan Students in Tambov Manuel André Ndengue and the President Morais Júbilo de Matos began with a short presentation of the Angolan Independence War.
When is the Angolan independence?
The Angolan Independence is on 11th, November. The date was proclaimed by the First Angolan President Dr. António Agostinho Neto at 23h of 11th, November 1975 at the Independence Square with these words “I proclaim before Africa and all over the world the Angolan Independence”, since then the country was free from slavery and colonialism that has taken 5 centuries.
How have you felt celebrating independence in Russia?
This is our beginning in Russia and our first party organization; we were all thrilled the way that we shared with people from different countries and continents, religions and cultures, languages and race. We had a nice party of course; we had a fun with so much dance and very funny moments. We didn’t miss home at all because in the hall we felt ourselves at home.
This is the beginning of our commemorations, we regarded it as a trial because we wanted to show our culture to the foreigners with the promise of preparing something better in the next occasion, and however we really appreciate the presence of those who joined us and not forgetting the assistance from the administration of Tambov Medical Institute and the international relations department of Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin. We are really grateful.
